TRP Locator Description
TRP Locator runs on any android phone which has GPS capabilities, and data service from a phone company. It receives the coordinates of the mobile and transmits it to The Routing Project.A membership for The Routing Project provides a simple means for everyone to see the location of the mobile on a map, and thus track the location of an entity (vehicle or individual), using technology that every home has access to: the internet and/or a mobile phone with internet service.
TRP Locator is combined with a website that allows users to create Orgs (groups) that others may join. Each member of an Org can view the location of other members.
What's new in TRP Locator 2.8
- Added location-based messaging- Added functionality to receive messages from a browser
- Added messages views (list and individual)
- Fixed a bug related to receiving messages (viewing notifications) in Android versions above 4.0.4.
- Increased the frequency of the transmission of coordinates, which made it possible to increase the frequency that vehicle positions are refreshed on the map.
