NC BioNetwork Microscope Description
BioNetwork’s Virtual Microscope is the first fully interactive 3D scope for tablets - it’s a great practice tool to prepare you for working in a science lab. Or, use the Virtual Microscope in lieu of a real scope - perfect for online courses or home schools.With the Virtual Microscope, you can:
• Select a specimen from our slide bank
• Position the slide on the stage
• Adjust the brightness using the iris diaphragm
• Rotate the coarse and fine adjustment knobs.
• Choose the low, mid, or high power objective.
• Record your findings in a virtual lab notebook.
Choose from 3 play modes:
1. Tutorial - work side-by-side with a virtual instructor to review the basics of microscopy and perform a guided practice experiment.
2. Free play - Practice using the microscope at your own pace.
3. Experiment - Complete an assignment from your virtual instructor successfully to receive a certificate.
