Barbershop Quartet Music Notes Description

This app is for the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2015 international convention in Pittsburgh, PA.

Music Notes is a free companion app for scoring or taking performance notes during the convention. The singing order and quartet info is already filled in for the college competition, the men's quarterfinals, and the chorus contest -- just like the BHS program!

Optimized for the Nexus 5 and newer phones.

FEATURES

Singing order for the college contest, the quarterfinals, and the AIC show.

• Dark Mode

Switch to dark mode during performances -- to be considerate of the rest of the audience.

• Song Autocomplete

Life is too short to type out a whole song title! Music Notes has 3,500 barbershop quartet song titles in its database so you only have to type "zing" instead of "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart."

• No Internet Required

All the data is stored locally on your device, so no internet access is necessary except to access BHS's official scores and live schedule.

• Quartet/Chorus Autocomplete

When the next singing order is announced at the end of the quarterfinals and semifinals, you can enter each quartet name with just a few taps.

• Score Your Way

You can rate quartets and choruses with BHS scoring system (music/presentation/singing scores) or with a single number for each quartet per round.

• Automatic Score Calculation

No more tabulating your notes from the program at the end of each night to see how your scores compare to the judges' scores. Music Notes does all the math for you and shows your rankings for each round (and your overall rankings).

• Official Barbershop Harmony Society Scores

Once BHS posts the official scores for the night, they're just a tap away.

• Backup and Restore

Music Notes lets you backup/export your data to move it between devices or just for extra peace of mind.

TO MOVE DATA BETWEEN DEVICES:

1. On the old device: From the Options screen, press "Send data backup" to email the raw data to yourself as a text file.

2. On the new device: On the Options screen, press "Import a backup file" and paste the raw data from your email into the text field.
