Baby Read Description
The Baby Read App will greatly improve the chancesof your baby reading fluently before the age of 5 if used correctly.
Below is a list of things that you can do to improve the learning
experience of your baby.
1. Be enthusiastic!
Try to be enthusiastic when showing the App to your baby
and use a tone of voice that is friendly and high pitched.
2. Practice often!
The App should be used at least twice a day. Some babies
might ask to use the App even more frequently.
Short frequent sessions are better than long ones, don't
bore your baby!
3. Start early!
The Baby Read App can be used as soon as the baby can
hold his head up, usually around 2 or 3 months of age.
The younger the babies the easier it is for them to
learn words.
4. Level 1 is the most important one!
The 45 words contained in Level 1 are the most
important ones. Please teach your baby those words before
moving to Level 2. It might take several months for your
baby to learn the first 45 words, please be very patient
and don't get discouraged.
5. Avoid distractions!
Cartoons, TV and silly games distract your baby. Please
put away all the toys and turn down the lights if
necessary to increase her concentration.
6. Make if fun!
The whole learning experience should be as much
fun as possible, be as creative as you
can be.
7. Don't punish your baby!
If your baby doesn't feel like using the App don't force
her, instead ask her again after a few hours or the next day.
If she is not learning fast enough, don't punish her or act upset
or disappointed, this is meant to be fun!
8. Avoid teaching your baby the Alphabet until the Age of 5.
Babies are supposed to focus on the words, not on the
letters. Some babies are able to memorize thousands of words
before the age of 5. Ultimately this method will
allow them to speed-read long texts later in life
without difficulty. Your kids will be able to do their homework much faster than other kids.
9. Babies love Karaoke!
This App uses songs because babies tend to be more focused
when reading and singing along.
Because of copyrights we are not allowed to use popular songs like
'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' by The Tokens, or 'Let It Snow'
by Dean Martin, but you are strongly encouraged to find those
Karaoke songs on YouTube and sing them to your baby, all while pointing to the words with
your finger.
10. Cover the images when reading paper books!
Babies tend to look at images instead of looking at words.
If you want your baby to learn words, please cover all images
when reading paper books to them. They will still enjoy the
experience just as much as they would with the images.
11. Don't test your baby unless she is asking for!
Testing invariably introduces tension into the situation
on the part of the parent and children perceive this
readily.
Skip the Reading Levels unless your baby wants
to play with them on her own.
Be very patient and loving to your baby, praise her and
hug her whenever it's possible, and she will be
grateful to you for the rest of her life.
